SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

The scanning electrochemical microscope (SECM) is a particularly important tool for the study of local electrochemical processes and/or for the identification of surfaces with different conductivity and redox properties, corrosives, etc. in various electrochemical systems. coatings and biological agents.

In many high value-added companies, such as biotechnology and microelectronics, as well as in research institutions, the availability of such devices is limited due to the relatively large and stationary nature of commercial SECMs. This makes them difficult to use where the SECM has to be transported and housed in various “boxes” and laminars. Another limiting factor is that in commercial SECMs the user cannot reprogram the equipment to suit his/her own needs, extend the scope of the application or connect additional hardware to obtain more information about the sample. In other words, SECMs are not currently reprogrammable/adaptive and therefore do not have the ability to be adapted to changing tasks

The SECM addresses these problems by being compact, portable and compatible with several currently used interfaces and probes to locally detect the required sample characteristics.
